Car Accident Kills 17-Year-Old

A teenager was fatally injured in a car accident on South Capital of Texas Highway near Westlake Drive, after the car she was a passenger in was struck by another vehicle.

Brooke Lowe was riding in the front seat of a 2000 Oldsmobile when the driver made a U-turn and was hit by a green 2004 Dodge pickup truck. She died after doctors at Brackenridge Hospital tried to save her.

An investigation is ongoing by Austin police and they ask anyone with information to please call them at (512) 974-8211.
