School let out last Thursday signaling the beginning of the holiday season. Unfortunately, the holiday season got off to a deadly start. Friday afternoon and evening, there were two car wrecks that killed 2 Austin area children and injured two more. Friday afternoon, young Geraldo Corona and his friend James Ball were walking along Evelyn Road when they were hit by an alleged drunk driver. Corona, 11, was killed, and Ball was at Dell Children's Hospital.

Friday evening, 6 year old Michelle Centeno was killed when she was thrown from her vehicle in a 1 car wreck. Michelle's mother, the driver of the car, has also been held on suspicions of driving while intoxicated.

Finally, early this morning, an unidentified woman who was a passenger on a motorcycle was thrown from the motorcycle and hit by an oncoming car.

Please folks, be careful when you're out there. People are getting off of work for the holidays, there are more drivers on the road, and it seems that everyone's in a hurry to get wherever they are going. Please do what you can to protect you and your loved ones during the holiday season.
