This week, the Wall Street Journal ran a great article describing how hundreds of thousands of drivers are dropping their auto insurance as a result of the weakening economy. What does that mean for you and me? We need to buy more insurance.

I know you're surprised. If you have read this blog, you know that we're no friends of insurance companies. But I think it's critical that our clients purchase uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage and personal injury protection coverage on their own automobile insurance policies. These coverages are relatively inexpensive and they can be critical in protecting you.

I have had many cases where a client having an adequate amount of PIP coverage has made the difference allowing the client getting the medical care needed. And today, the minimum liability limits are $25,000.00. Why wouldn't you purchase as much insurance to protect you and your family as you do to protect strangers?
