Texas's Medical Malpractice Reforms Aren't Working

 According to an investigation done by the Dallas/Fort Worth Fox television station affiliate, the medical malpractice reforms enacted five years ago weren't needed and aren't bringing the promised benefits.   The report summed up its findings as follows:

So did Texans benefit from tort reform?

Doctors, some.

Insurance companies? A lot.

Most Texans probably couldn't say.

But if you lost your baby after a difficult delivery, tort reform may have taken away your ability to find answers.

Melody Pinsukanjana said, "We've lost access to the courts and that's the biggest frustration I have."
