At least four people were killed in a flash flood that took place in north Texas, and many more people are still missing. Among the dead was a 4 year-old girl from Fort Worth and a 5 year-old girl and her grandmother from Gainesville. The 5 year-old's sister is still missing. Another women was confirmed dead after her car stalled and she was swept away by the water.

The damages to homes, buildings, and cars are extreme. Around 100 mobile homes in Haltom City were inundated and several were washed off there foundations. Many people were found by rescue workers on the roofs of their homes, having to hack their way through their attics, due to the high waters. Even Interstate 35 from Gainesville to Oklahoma was closed for several hours due to the rain.

The National Weather Service reported that over 23cm of rain poured over the Gainesville area since Monday morning and rain fell at a rate of an inch every 15 minutes in certain areas. Only isolated thunderstorms were in the forecast for Monday and Tuesday.
