One of the big personal injury stories in Texas for the last two years has been the litigation surrounding the explosion at British Petroleum's Texas City refinery. The explosion, which killed 15 people and injured 170 more, was the worst accident in the gas and chemical industry in almost 15 years. The first trial commenced on September 5 and ended earlier this week with a confidential settlement between the parties. Many of the other cases have previously resulted in settlements.
